How do I book my first session?

What should I expect during my first session?
The first session, also known as an intake session, provides an opportunity to assess your mental health history and presenting challenges. This will help to create unique treatment plan goals and objectives that you wish to address.
How do I know if Therapy is right for me?
Therapy is a valuable wellness resource worth exploring before deciding that it's not a good fit for you. While everyone has the potential to benefit from therapy, the effectiveness depends on how you utilize the time and resources available. Give therapy a chance, and discover the impact it can have on your wellbeing.
What age range of clients do you accept?
Therapy sessions are offered to clients ages 13 and up.
Fees & Insurance
Do you accept insurance for services?
Yes, The Wellness Social does accept insurance. Self-pay services are also offered, and a superbill can be provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance for partial or full reimbursement. Please make sure to check with your insurance ahead of time to confirm they accept superbills.
How much does therapy cost?
Self-pay individual therapy sessions are $165 for a total of 50 minutes.
Which states do you provide services for?
I am currently licensed in the state of Georgia and Michigan. If you do not reside in either of these states, I am unable to provide therapy services to you at this time. However, if you reside out of state, you can take full advantage of virtual wellness groups and workshops that will be provided.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
Yes, The Wellness Social offers sliding scale fees based off low-income. I also accept a max of 2 clients through Open Path.
Telehealth Therapy
Are sessions online or in-person?
All therapy sessions takes place online through a secure, HIPAA compliant platform.
Is Telehealth therapy just as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes, research has proven that Telehealth therapy is just as effective as therapy in-person. The outcome of your therapy journey depends more on your consistency with sessions, willingness to engage, and a strong therapeutic alliance with the Therapist.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Your attendance and everything shared in therapy remains confidential, with the exception of extreme circumstances of safety that will be further discussed during our first session.
How is my personal information handled through Telehealth?
We utilize encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platforms for Telehealth sessions. These platforms are designed to safeguard your privacy and maintain the confidentiality of your sessions. Any personal information shared during Telehealth sessions is securely stored and protected in accordance with relevant privacy laws and regulations
