Meet Dr. Jasmine
I'm someone who discovered a passion for helping others early in life and relentlessly pursued that calling without ever questioning the underlying motivation. I earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology, went straight for my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and took a well-deserved gap year to pursue a Doctorate degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences. My time spent outside of pursuing my education included working directly in various backgrounds with diverse populations. I have experience working in community mental health, youth detention centers, residential treatment facilities, schools, and social services. Through these diverse environments, I've cultivated meaningful relationships with the individuals I have worked with. In 2020, I founded TheraPink for Girls Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to creating safe spaces for young girls in underrepresented communities to explore and understand mental health. Aside from work, I'm a devoted wife and mother, who values quality time with family and friends, love hiking new trails, indulges in all things self-care, and traveling. Despite accumulating years of invaluable experience in the field, I maintain a perpetual student mindset, consistently immersing myself in ongoing learning and research to stay abreast of the best practices. Advocacy for mental health is a core tenet of my professional identity, with a specific emphasis on dismantling systemic barriers within minority communities. My dedication is reflected in my commitment to improving access to mental health services for BIPOC individuals.
What do I like most about being a Therapist?
I enjoy building relationships with those I have a privilege to work with, and contributing to a shared journey of fostering clarity and understanding regarding the significance of mental well-being. Beyond the talking, I appreciate the depth that therapy can reach, and I place considerable value on integrating supplementary wellness practices that contribute to the cultivation of a healthier lifestyle.
